baby-jogger-summit-x3-all-terrain-jogginAll-terrain stroller that is lightweight durable, sturdy and provides excellent maneuverability. The compact fold that can be folded with just one hand makes it simple to transport. It also stands on its own when folded. The cushioned seat reclines to a near-flat position, and there's a huge storage bin and canopy. Newborn suitability? Yes and with a carrycot.

Good suspension and air-filled tyres will handle rough terrain well. It's also suitable for jogging, although you should wait until your baby is at least six or nine months old to do this.

Ickle Bubba Air

This pushchair from Ickle Bubba is an excellent choice for parents who want lightweight strollers with added features. It comes as an all-in-one travel system that includes a lie-flat carrycot for newborns, a multi-position forward and rear-facing pushchair seat, and a choice of group 0+ car seat, so you can have everything you need in one place.

The XL Air is a really impressive buggy, and it's easy to see why it's received so many high marks from customers. It's extremely light - the chassis and wheels weigh just 6.5kg and it's easy to construct. In fact I was able to complete the entire setup and running in less than five minutes, which is pretty amazing given that it included a strapping of the fabric for the carrycot!

It has a nice wide, comfortable seat that was comfortable for Annie (who is 12 months old) and the recline lever is very easy to operate. The basket is spacious with plenty of space and I like that the handle bar has a pocket to keep your phone and keys secure.

The only slight downside is that the handlebar is quite low, which can be a problem for taller parents. However, it's encased in a lovely leather-like material that's soft and comfortable and cleans down easily, making it still easy to push with children and bags on your hands!

Hauck Pushchair Runner

The Runner is for parents who enjoy exploring and are always on the go. Its large pneumatic wheels are designed to be used on forest and field paths, and the front twin 3 wheel stroller can be swivelled and locked to give you more flexibility. The stroller also features a 5-point safety harness with a front bar to keep your child secure on all trips. The parking brake will keep the stroller stationary while you take a rest. The comfortable seat is easy to recline to a lying position and the canopy can be opened to allow with netting to ensure maximum air circulation during hot days. The handle can be height-adjusted by more than 30 centimeters to accommodate dad's or mom's heights.

No matter if you're taking a quick jog or a hike that lasts a while, the Runner will be there to accompany you on all your adventures with a fully-flat lie-flat seat and suspension air wheels that guarantee a bump-free ride. The front wheel can be locked for greater stability on narrow streets and overcrowded sidewalks, and the stroller folds up easily to fit into car boots and storage spaces.

Some parents have reported that the Runner 2 to be a bit more difficult to navigate than its predecessor, and the locking mechanism is less user-friendly (requiring two buttons on the opposite side of the push bar). The handlebar is a little higher than other strollers which means it might not work for smaller parents however, overall it's a sturdy and versatile stroller that's worthy of consideration for families with active kids.

Red Kite Push Me walking

The Pace is a great option from Red Kite, an affordable British brand which prides itself on making easy-to-use and simple essentials for parenting. It's the latest - and priciest - product in their bargain-priced lightweight stroller range and as with the Ickle Bubba Aurora and Yoyo, is car seat adaptable so you can use it right from birth (the carrycot folds away).

The new Pace features some stunning design elements, including rose-gold hues on the hood, chassis, and stroller trims, which really distinguish it from. The cream, grey, and tan fabrics used in the stroller as well as the car seat are fashionable and there's the option of adding an coordinating leather handle for the cover and bumper bar as well.

The stroller seat is used from birth until 22kg. It can easily be converted into a reversible 2-in-1 position, either parent-facing or facing the world. The stroller seat comes with several lie-back positions, plus softly padded legs rests and an extendable sun canopy that has concealed zip sections, a viewing see-through flap, and retractable visor.

Furthermore, when folded it's Pace measures 56 32 x 43 cm which is enough to qualify as hand luggage with Easyjet and Ryanair among other airlines. Two buttons on either side are easy to use and click into place.

Bugaboo Fox 5

Created to be the ultimate all-terrain pushchair Bugaboo's newest Fox 5 promises to do it all. Its unique chassis, coupled with a shorter wheel-distance makes it more mobile than its predecessor. I tested it with my two kids - an infant and an eight-week old - across rough terrain, grassy woodland walks and even cobblestones.

The large puncture-proof wheels, which measure 22cm or 30cm in diameter are able to handle various terrains. They also come with a handy flap that can open or closes to let more air to circulate should you need it this is a nice touch. It's a bit larger than most pushchairs, but it does not feel heavy or bulky when pushing it across bumpy surfaces.

The seat fabric can be washed by machine and the faux leather grips and frame are easy to clean. It's also much quieter than some pushchairs, and I felt safe using it in busy city streets. It comes with accessory points that allow you to attach parasols and footmuffs and also changing bags, snack trays, and even snack trays. The hood can be used to block out the elements of wind and rain, but it's not waterproof. The single pram can be fitted with the Comfort 3 wheeled strollers board (not included), which gives your child more leg room. It took about 20 minutes to put together the bassinet, and the same amount of time to convert it to the seat.

Whether you're enjoying a morning jog under the stars or taking a moonlit stroll in the crisp air, the UPPAbaby Ridge turns every moment into a shared experience. This all-terrain jogging stroller is designed for maximum performance to keep your child and you both active.

The massive 12" and 16" foam-filled tires give you an effortless ride, no matter the terrain. The performance disc handbrake lets you stop quickly even while running on the downhill slope.

The Ridge is at its best in every city scene, from bustling farmers' markets to the street musicians playing music. The large basket can accommodate all your essentials as well as market purchases, while the massive canopy offers protection from the sun and wind. The front canopy can be removed to reveal two mesh peekaboos, which allow you to watch your baby.

The Ridge's reversible seat allows you to choose whether your child faces you, or the world ahead. Its simple foot brake system makes it easy for new parents. A fantastic feature is the reversible handlebar which lets you adjust it to your height and preferences. And unlike other strollers that jog The Ridge's fold is reliable and stays self-standing while folded.

iCandy Core

The new iCandy pushchair is packed with features that will be awe-inspiring to parents. It features a Multi-Mode wheelbase and a pioneering LED Visibility Hub Light that's a first for the industry. It also features an integrated Ride-on Board, which will save you money in the future and makes it easy for an exhausted toddler to accompany you on family outings.

The Core can be bought as a single or as a complete travel system and it works with most popular car seats from brands such as Cybex, Maxi Cosi and Joie. It also has the largest seat in the iCandy range, which means it will last your baby's first years and beyond. As with all iCandy pushchairs, this one is luxuriously designed and features premium knitted jersey fabric. The handlebar that parents can adjust and the child's bumper bar that can be detached are made from soft leatherette. The fold-away calf support is also extremely comfortable for children.

I was awed by the ease of fold and collapse - it only takes one hand with the seat unit in place. It's also easily tucked away in your hallway and boot which makes it ideal for travelling. The iCandy Core comes with lots of extra accessories, such as a rucksack with a color match and a liner/footmuff.
