Upgrades can increase the value of armors, weapons and rings. They also increase bonuses like crit chance and PvE damage.

Components

Upgrade components can be inserted into equipment with a slot for them; the item must have been at a minimum upgraded to blue level to allow a component to be applied. Infusions and enrichments are a special kind of upgrade component used for non-amulet ascended and legendary equipment as well as the items that are not ascending back. An upgrade may have a prefix or suffix changing the name of the equipment to the upgrade (for instancethe "Canthan Armor Insignia" becomes Canthan Armor of Minor Vigor). Item upgrades can sometimes be rerolled if the player has enough tokens in order to do so. The amount of resources needed to upgrade an item are determined by its rarity rating and the number of upgrade slots. The cost of upgrading equipment that is not premium is equal to its base value.
