Inline Lever/Lever

Lever Pad

A Lever Pad door handle made of upvc functions differently to the lever type handles that are found on the majority of doors. The handle can operate from a single spindle (inline) or independently from each side using two offset or inline spindles (pad). The handles are available in a variety of finishes including White, Chrome and Gold. The finish is in line with BS EN 1670:2007 Grade 5 and is also resistant to corrosion, thereby giving the handle a high degree of durability and performance for its intended use.

All UPVC handle lever pads include a spindle and screws and can be installed on a uPVC door. Euro Cylinder

Cylinder locks are typically found on uPVC doors, but they can be utilized on other types of doors. Cylinder locks are operated by using a key that unlocks the cylinder case. This exposes pins that can be aligned with those inside the lock and allow them to turn the revolving camera, thereby opening the door. Euro cylinders can be equipped with up to six pins, with external and internal doors generally requiring different levels of security.

Choosing the right cylinder is essential; it is contingent on the way your doors and handles are utilized. External doors, for example are required to be fitted with higher security cylinders and internal doors can be secured using an ordinary cylinder. Certain cylinders come with extra features that can improve security, such as anti-drill or anti-bump properties.

To make sure that the euro cylinder is the correct size for your door, it must be measured correctly. The cylinder should be measured from the screw hole at the center to the ends of the cylinder. This includes the thumb turn should there be one. If you cannot measure using the lock in its position, you can take it out of it. A cylinder that extends beyond the handle and escutcheon might be vulnerable to attacks such as snapping locks, so it is crucial that it is not too long.

The design of the latest cylinders includes anti-drilling and bump resistance features. These are designed to reduce attacks by forcing cylinders to rotate in a new direction. This helps prevent attacks and keep your doors safe.

There are also cylinders that are designed to withstand snapping. This is a common attack on cylinders. A specific tool is used to break the break line of the lock and the front of the cylinder is snapped off. This is a lot faster and easier to achieve than gaining access through multipoint locks. It also leaves no evidence of a break-in, which could hinder the insurance claim.

Spring Cassette

The spring cassette is situated inside the base plate of the door handle. It provides a sprung solution to bring your multipoint lock handles to their resting position after use. These handles used to have no spring and would droop when the locking mechanism was disconnected. The addition of this simple element is one of the most effective ways to fix this issue and is an effective way to keep your doors made of upvc from getting stuck in either closed or open position, as these are not always easy to close manually.

The spring cassettes were made to be used with sprung multipoint locks. They are not compatible with unsprung handles, and you will have to cut a hole into your backplate for them to fit. (Please look at the image for a more detailed diagram). These cassettes can be used as a replacement to broken or missing cassettes that are in the backplate of uPVC aluminium door handle handles. They are sold as one unit. They come with a square cut out that accommodates an 8mm shaft.
