Inline Lever/Lever

A lever/lever handle is a contemporary door handle designed to suit new or replacement doors. This type door handle is offered in a variety of styles & finishes. A variety of manufacturers provide this handle, including Avocet ERA, Fullex, Hoppe, Mila, Millenco & Yale.

The door handles of uPVC/Composite are constructed of durable materials and are perfect for multi-point lock doors that require a strong design. The handles are inline and operate from the same spindle and screw fixings. They are easily installed on new or existing uPVC/Composite doors.

The handle can be placed and angled to accommodate any user. The handle has been endurance-tested to 200 000 cycles. This helps to ensure that the quality of finish and performance over time. The sprung lever can be shortened to fit a wider range of locks. This is particularly useful in doors with smaller door frames where the cylinder is located further back. A shortened lever can also be used on doors with a latch which can be operated with the thumb located on the inside.

Lever Pad

A Lever Pad door handle made of upvc operates differently than lever handles that are found on the majority of doors. The handle can use a single spindle (inline) or independently from each side using two inline or offset spindles (pad). They are usually employed on UPVC doors with double glazing window handle glazing. They are available in a variety of finishes & variations.

The handles are available in a variety of finishes including White chrome, and Gold. The finish is BS EN 1670 Grade 5 and is resistant to rust. This provides the handle with a high performance and durability to serve its intended use.

All UPVC handle lever pads include a spindle and screws and can be installed on a uPVC door. The backplate fixing centers of 211mm allow for a larger size of handle which can be beneficial when replacing a faulty or worn multi-point door lock mechanism. The handle levers are spring-loaded, thereby solving the issue of handles hanging out of the horizontal position when they are not being used.

When selecting a replacement handles for windows UPVC handle and spindle, it is important to match the PZ dimensions of the multipoint lock as well as the uPVC door. This measurement may also be referred to as 'handle centres' or cylinder centres'. It is important to match the correct handles.

Euro Cylinder

Cylinder locks are commonly used on uPVC doors, but can be utilized on other types of door. They operate with a key to unlock a cylinder that will reveal pins that can be aligned with those inside the lock body, allow them to rotate a revolving cam, thus opening the door. Euro cylinders can be fitted with up to six pins, with external and internal doors usually having different levels of security.

The choice of the correct cylinder is vitally important; this depends on how your door and handle are utilized. Doors that are external, for instance should be equipped with cylinders with greater security, whereas internal doors can be secured with the standard cylinder. In addition, some cylinders have extra features which can enhance security even more, like anti-drill and anti-bump characteristics.

A euro cylinder should be measured correctly to ensure that it is the correct size for your door. The cylinder should be measured from the hole in the center of the fixing screw to each end of the cylinder, including the thumb turn if you have one. If you are unable to measure with the lock in position, you can take it out of it. A cylinder that is protruding beyond the handle and escutcheon might be vulnerable to attacks such as lock snapping, so it is crucial that it's not too long.

Most newer cylinders have been designed with anti-drill and bump resistance features built into their design. They are designed to decrease the risk of attack by causing the cylinder to rotate in a different direction. This helps deflect the attack and keep your doors safe.

There are also cylinders that are constructed to withstand snapping. This is a more frequent type of attack on cylinders where the break line inside the Sash Lock Door Handles is attacked using a special tool to snap off the double glazed front door handles of the cylinder and allow the door to open. This is a quicker and simpler method to gain access than through a multipoint locking system. It also leaves less evidence of the burglary which can make it difficult to prove insurance claims.

Spring Cassette

This spring cassette is found inside the base plate of the door handle. It provides a sprung solution to return the multipoint lock handles to their original position after use. The handles were previously equipped with no spring and would drop when the locking mechanism was removed. Adding this simple component is among the best ways to correct this issue and is an excellent way to stop your doors made of upvc from becoming stuck in either closed or open position, as they aren't always simple to close manually.

These spring cassettes have been specifically designed for use with sprung multipoint locks, they will not fit non-sprung multipoint handles. You will need to have a hole specifically cut in the backplate to allow them to fit (please look at the image for a technical diagram). They are a replacement for existing damaged or missing cassettes inside the door handle backplate of numerous brands of uPVC doors. They are available as one unit. They come with a square cut out that can accommodate an 8mm shaft.
